How do I get started?
It's easy, just enter your info into the "my profile" section
and an email will be sent to you with a code that you will use for your first
login.
How many scores can I enter?
There is no limit to the number of scores you can enter.
What about entering the course Slope and Rating?
You only have to enter a course slope and rating one time.
The software will keep a record of the courses that you have entered. The slope
and rating can be found on the scorecard.
Are "handicap" and "handicap index" the
same thing?
The term "handicap" is actually your "index". While
many golfers will be happy with just knowing their "handicap" the "index" gives
you the ability to refine your handicap to each individual course and each set
of tees.
Recreational handicaps are the type generated by My 18 Holes. The formula
developed by the USGA is used to compute these handicaps. This handicap is
popular with golfers who don't want to join a golf club in order to determine
their handicap. Be aware that while the same formula is used to compute both
handicaps the recreational handicap is not sanctioned by the USGA.
How is handicap index calculated?
Your handicap index is calculated using the same
formula as the USGA. If you want the mathematical formula used to compute your
handicap you can get it from the USGA. Our site is designed to free you from
that burden by automatically calculating your handicap for you.
How many scores are used to generate my Handicap?
You must enter 5 scores to get your initial handicap
index.
What is an adjusted score?
Your adjusted score is your total score after Equitable
Stroke Control has been applied. Simple put equitable stroke control is the
maximum hole scores that an individual is allowed to take.
Example:
0-9 course handicap max-Double Bogey
10 -19 course handicap max-7
20 - 29 course handicap max-8
30 - 39 course handicap max-9
40 or over course handicap max-10
If I am a Canadian
resident; can I use this site to compute my handicap?
Yes. Just check the RCGA box on the registration page and
that is all you have to do.
